Cover photo: Giaco

The anthology My Gay Eye I Mein schwules Auge has been published once a year since 2003. The works by over 700 international artists and authors have been featured, opening up many surprising new perspectives beyond the western gay way of life.

No American magazines I know of have so many naked men.
— Felice Picano, US author

About our edition #21: Gay passion unfolds as a powerful response to a world full of conflict – sometimes tender, sometimes wild, but always rebellious: from the S&M poem “Please Master” by the father of the hippie movement Allen Ginsberg to Wolfgang Tillmans’photos of carefree frolicking on the beach, from rampant Asian cowboys in the Wild West to soldiers in love in the First World War and the rediscovered porn comic “Zeno” by Thor of Sweden.

In a society that often pits people against each other, it is a radical act to choose love over war.

Tom of Finland Foundation Special issue includes many originals from their huge collection of erotic art.

In 2018 My Gay Eye had a very successful collaboration with the Tom of Finland Foundation (Los Angeles). The TOM OF FINLAND FOUNDATION SPECIAL issue includes many originals from their huge collection of erotic art. The BERLIN SPECIAL in 2019 presented the renowned German artists Rainer Fetting, Eva & Adele, Norbert Bisky and Wolfgang Tillmans. A successful first exhibition on Mein Schwules Auge in Schwules Museum (Berlin) took place in 2006, which subsequently went on to the Galeria Carmen de la Guerra (Madrid) as La mirada gay. In the following years we organized various commercial exhibitions in private galleries in Berlin and Munich as well as a presentation in Los Angeles.

For over 30 years Konkursbuch Verlag Claudia Gehrke in Tübingen, Germany has published the anthology Mein heimliches Auge (My Secret Eye) which deals in words and pictures with eroticism of every type and has long established a cult status. The great success of the series prompted the publisher to launch two “children” Mein lesbisches Auge (My Lesbian Eye) and Mein schwules Auge (My Gay Eye). Our anthology has been published in two languages, German and English since 2018.
